So u.a. den 4. Emma Jeffcoat liegt dort klar in Führung.

How does it feel to be a hunter with men? In recent years, the team has always been the hunted.

I can't really say that I like the role of the "hunter" in the EJOT men's team. But the triathlon Bundesliga is not a dream concert. Clubs like Potsdam, Saarland, Cologne, Griesheim and Münster have caught up and can, if they start in the best line-up and our team is weak, pass us by. There are reasons why we don't appear so dominant this year. Many athletes from the big squad are not available due to various other races and the all dominating Olympia qualification. In Kraichgau crashes and technical failure. And in Düsseldorf the weakening on one or the other position in the team. A place number in the 20s is top for many teams. For us and especially when the other teams are strong, this is not enough. But also not our demand on the athletes. For the Bundesliga and the tension, the current table situation is certainly good. Whoever stands at the top in the end has rightly won. Without any ifs or buts. And we have to congratulate them sincerely. But also to draw the right conclusions. On all levels ! Because we don't want to be hunters, but the hunted, who doesn't give the hunters a chance.

What do you expect from Jonas Hoffmann at his Bundesliga premiere in 2019? In Tübingen Jonas already knew how to convince once. By winning the company race, he still fueled a little self-confidence.

Well, it's not the Bundesliga premiere for Jonas. In 2017 and 2018, Jonas has already been able to breathe Bundesliga air in several races. And with the 13th place in Tübingen in 2017 he also achieved his best result so far. Jonas is a full member of the Bundesliga team. That is also his own claim. And everyone in the Bundesliga squad wants to start if the racing calendar makes it possible. But every athlete in the EJOT team also knows the expectations and especially our common goals. Jonas was not set up by the sporting director Marco Göckus because he has the bonus of "home starters", but because he himself and his coach ( Lars Erik Fricke ) have clearly signaled that he is in the form to contribute to his team in Tübingen to regain the lead in the standings.

Johnny Zipf is an „old warhorse“ at the start. Can he use his experience to help the team in this unusual situation?

Johnny is the only current athlete in the Bundesliga squad who has been used every season during his time with the EJOT Team and has always been German Team Champion. And he was always a guarantor for a top ranking. That should stay that way. Johnny has not only experience, but I am sure that his performance will contribute significantly to the fact that it will be harder for the other teams to beat us.

Maybe two or three more sets to the women, where the championship can almost be bagged.

I am far from talking about the championship in the women's teams. We currently have 4 points and almost 50 places ahead, but in the two remaining races a lot can happen. But if we win again in Tübingen, we can certainly go into the last race in Berlin with a lot of confidence. I am very happy to have the "Grande Dame" of triathlon sports, Andrea Hewitt, back in the team. Andrea has made a significant contribution in many races to the fact that we have always been German champions with the women's team since 2012. But I am also looking forward to the EJOT Team debut of Therese Feuersinger. She has already achieved some successes with her 21 years. For example the 4th place at the Junior World Championships in Triathlon 2017. But for the women we should also take a "little" look at the individual classification. Emma Jeffcoat is clearly in the lead there. With another top result, she could already make a preliminary decision here. But Emmie Charayron could also push herself far forward here with a good result.

Other...
Marco Göckus has nominated the teammembers for Tübingen. Since he can't be in Tübingen himself (he tries to get the qualification for the Ironman Hawaii at the Ironman Switzerland), I'm temporarily in charge of the sports in Tübingen. And the entire support team, which will certainly be highly motivated once again, will do everything together with the active athletes to ensure that we travel to Berlin as the leader of the women's and men's tables.
